Christmas Decorating And Winter At The Farm – In Photos

Christmas decorating and the full force of Winter came alive this past week! A mid-week snowfall and the Christmas season collided for a beautiful scene at the farm. What a way to wrap up the last month of the year in our first year at the farm.

We thought it would be the perfect time to take the camera out and share a few photos while the snow fell and the Christmas decorations go up. We hope you enjoy!

CHRISTMAS DECORATING AND WINTER AT THE FARM

Christmas DecoratingThe falling snow begins to coat the homemade wreath on the side of the house. Mary used an old wire form to create the wreath from a few strands garland and ornaments we had from our old house.
Christmas decoratingOur first Christmas Tree in the house! The higher ceilings allowed for a taller tree – and now a ladder to decorate!

Christmas decorationsOrnamental grasses covered in snow make for a beautiful winter scene. We keep our grasses up through the late fall and early winter to provide a bit of protection for the birds and small animals that stick around.
Christmas decorationsThe view from our front door to the road. There is nothing like a fresh coat of snow to make it feel like Christmas!
Although it may be snowing outside – the chickens are nice and cozy in their coop! We probably need to add a few Christmas decorations to the coop to let them know Christmas is here!
