Grandma's Apple Crisp Recipe

  • 6 medium size apples
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup 1 stick of room temperature unsalted butter

  1. preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  2. Peel, core and cut apples into bite size chunks
  3. Place the apples in a 8x8 baking pan
  4. Sprinkle with 1/2 tsp cinnamon (you can adjust to your preference)
  5. In a medium size mixing bowl combine sugar, flour, cinnamon.
  6. Add butter to mixture and cut in with a fork (I prefer to use my hands) until it resembles pea size crumbles
  7. Sprinkle mixture over top of the apples.
  8. Bake for 45-60 minutes until the top is golden and the apples are soft.
  9. Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.

Recipe Notes

You can serve it with vanilla ice cream, caramel topping, whipped cream, etc... but the flavors are so good that it isn't necessary!
