baked tater tots

Baked Tater Tots

Servings 6

  • 2 pounds russet potatoes peeled
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1/4 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

  1. Preheat oven to 425° F
  2. If using large potatoes, cut in half or quarters and place in a large saucepan covered with cold water. Bring to a boil and cook for about 6-7 minutes until parboiled. Drain well and let cool.
  3. Using a box grater with the large grid, finely shred potatoes. Drain potatoes on a towel, removing as much water as possible.
  4. Transfer shredded potatoes to a large bowl. Stir in flour, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano and dill; season with salt and pepper, to taste.
  5. Form potatoes into tots.
  6. Place tots on a parchment lined baking sheet and place in the pre-heated oven for 25-30 minutes, turning on each side while baking.
  7. Serve immediately
