Peel, core and slice each apple into at least 8 wedges. We use an apple slicer/corer to make quick work of this process.
Once the apples are nice and soft, puree the mixture using an immersion blender or in a food processor or blender until smooth or until desired consistency is achieved. *Complete in batches - do not fill more than half full when processing the hot mixture in a blender or food processor.
Freeze in desired portions in freezer safe containers or freezer bags.
Apples that make good applesauce and are commonly found: Gala, Johnathan, McIntosh, Courtland.
Store in the fridge for up to two weeks or in the freezer for up to 9-12 months.
