Crockpot chili is one of our favorite, busy week night, go-to recipes. Not only is it simple to prepare, it is ready when you get home from a long day at work or school.

All you have to do is brown the meat and throw everything in the crockpot before you head out in the morning.
Once you get home the warm and delicious smell of classic chili will be drifting through the air. We use a 6 qt. programmable crockpot that will keep the chili warm after the cook time ends.
This recipe provides a thick and hearty chili that stands up great to a crowd.
The warm, yet tolerable heat begs people to eat a second helping. You can adjust the heat to your liking – add an extra jalapeno or don’t use any at all. The choice is up to you.
Our biggest secret in making the perfect chili is to use a mixture of ground meat.
We typically use 1/2 pound each of ground chuck, ground sausage and ground chicken. Although using one variety of ground meat is still very good, using the trio adds an additional depth of flavor that you just can’t find when using a single source.
So next time when you want a nice and hearty bowl of chili – give this award winning recipe a try!
