It is hard to believe that our “Adventure Of A Lifetime” is almost here. But it is!
In just a little over a week, we will set out with our Nucamp Teardrop camper and a few carefully packed belongings to create a lifetime of memories in all 50 states.
It has taken a mountain of planning, but we are so ready for this incredible adventure to begin!
The Adventure Of A Lifetime – The Plan For The Farm, Garden & Us.
The Plan For Us
As we head next week to the Nebraska to start it all off, many have asked about what will happen to everything we “normally” do. (See : Our Dates For The States)
Well, for starters, we will continue writing for our 3 websites as we always do.
In fact, I think we are both extremely excited that the opportunity to see so many new places and spaces will only give us more to write about.
New gardening ideas. New DIY ideas. And of course, all kinds of new recipe inspirations from sampling dishes from every corner of the country. It truly will be an Adventure of a Lifetime.
Live In The Moment
But most of all, the plan for us is to simply live, breathe, and take it all in. To live and experience whatever comes our way every day, no matter where we are.
Too many times, we as human beings find reasons NOT to follow our dreams.
It is quite easy to always come up with a reason not to try something new, go somewhere new, or do something new. And waiting for the perfect time, will almost always ensure that it will never come.
And before you know it, it’s simply too late.
For us, the best part of this trip will be that for the rest of our life, we can simply say, “wow, we really did it!” (See : The Trip of a Lifetime)
The Farm & Garden
And what about the farm?
Well, as we take our Adventure of a Lifetime, it couldn’t be in better hands. Not only will our family continue to live there full-time, we also have a myriad of friends, family and gracious volunteers that have offered to help keep it rolling.
And then there is the question we get most often: What is going to happen to the garden?
Well, just like us, it is going to take a year off. After all, we all need a rest now and then.
This coming week, before heading out, we will harvest and clear off the garden. And then we will tarp the entire 40 x 60 area to seal it off until we return.
It should provide an incredible rest for a garden that has provided for us the last 9 seasons.
And when we get back, you better believe taking that tarp off will be the first thing we do when we get out of the truck!
Here is to starting the Adventure of a Lifetime! Jim and Mary.
