An old standby, Johnny’s Seed Catalog

One of the things we love about Johnny’s is that it’s 100% employee owned. In addition, many of their customer service representatives are actual Master Gardeners

And that is a great comfort when extra garden advice might be needed! Direct Link : Johnny’s Catalog Request

Urban Farmer

We were first turned on to this great little company a few years back by a fellow reader. And like Johnny’s, it has become a good resource for seeds.

Urban Farmer has wonderful, high quality, non-GMO seeds and plants. And they cater to everyone from commercial growers and farmers, to backyard gardeners as well.

What started as a part time hobby in 2008, the company went full time in 2011. They now offer over 1,000 seed varieties – plus bulbs, plants and garden supplies too.

And even better, they work to produce some of the seed they sell right on their own Indiana farm. See : Urban Farmer Catalog Request

Park Seed Catalog

Park Seeds has been supplying gardeners for a long time! As in 150 years long!

15 year old George W. Park founded the company in 1868 at the kitchen table of his parent’s home. It seems young George wanted to earn a little money from selling seeds from his own garden.

And did his little business idea ever grow from there!

We have used Park Seeds nearly every year, and love the look and added info of their catalogs. SEE : Park Seed Catalog Request

Baker Creek Seeds Free Seed Catalog

In addition to their annual now-famous full-sized catalog / gardening book, Baker Creek also publishes a free seed catalog every year.

Baker Creek’s free catalog has excellent descriptions and information. But what we love even more is how committed they are to heirloom seeds.

With that said for the free catalog, if you have never had the opportunity to read their full size Baker Creek / Rare Seeds Catalog book, it is amazing!

The photography of the heirloom vegetable seeds and plants is stunning. Not to mention the catalog is full of great descriptions and interesting stories on each seed’s history.

There is a charge for the full book, but many libraries carry a copy that can be checked out for free.

Seed Savers Exchange

Seed Savers, like Baker Creek is an incredibly informative catalog. It can certainly get you in the gardening mood with its gorgeous pictures and detailed descriptions.

The catalog is a true gardening resource, with well over 600 heirloom and open pollinating seed varieties.
